My First Movie ~ Happy Feet!

Is that really my 2 1/2 year old!!??! He looks so old! Like he should be going off to college or something! I guess that will happen before I know it! However, in the meantime, I don't suggest going to IMAX for the very first movie experience but Happy Feet was cute and Jeremy LOVED it once we got past the IMAX presentation of being in the path of a tornato and the preview for the new night in the museum movie with the T-Rex Skeleton that all but jumps out of the screen at you!

Growing Up

So...I was just up in my hotel atrium getting some breakfast and I could help but overhear a conversation between a boy and his dad. The boy looked to be about 8-10 years old and he wanted to get some more scrambled eggs. His dad was telling him to wait and he would help him. He said..."Dad..I'm a big boy..I can do it."

It made me thing about Jeremy and his Dad and when that sentence will come out of Jeremy's mouth for the first time. I know it will be Dad he says it to first and not Mom because his Dad is the overprotective parent of the two of us. Yes...you heard it right...usually the Mom but not in our case.

For example....two things happened yesterday....one Jeremy was running from the living room to the hallway and had to pass through the kitchen on his way. When he hit the tile floor he wiped out and got a bloody lip. He was fine in about 2-3 minutes and back to running. However, the new rule from Daddy is that he can't run in the house anymore because he might fall. Good luck enforcing that rule. Keeping a 2 year old from running...not likely.

Then later that night he was playing in his room and came out to the living room and walked up to me with a look on his face that was half proud and half mischievous. In his hand was one of the light bulbs from his floor lamp that is at the end of his bed. So, I took it and put it back in the lamp and explained to him the dangers of electric shock. Dad asked, "Do you think we need to move that lamp now? If he puts his fingers in there he could be dead!" Okay...so in this example he might have a point.

Monster of the Midway

So....it is a sad night in Chicago. Unfortunately, the only "Monster of the Midway" that I saw was the one above. Congratulations to all of you Colts Fans out there. The team that played the best definitely won tonight and deserved the World Champion title! Here in Chicago we are use to saying, "Well, there is always next year!"
