March 17, 2007 ~ We saw the Doodlebops Live!

Mommy definitely had more fun than Jeremy. However, I was a little sad that we were sooooo far away and the long intermission was silly. We will have to wait a few years for Jeremy's fear of this type of outing to go away. I think he was having flashbacks of "Happy Feet".

Here is my zoomed in 20x picture! Jeremy kept saying all night after the show that we saw the Doodlebops..."The little Doodlebops!"

Intermission.....20 minutes??!?!?
This is crazy....try to keep the attention of a 2 1/2 year old that really wants to leave for 20 minutes!!! I get the marketing gimmick to sell all the overly priced junk that they have available during that time.....but 20 minutes!!!! (You can see that Grandma is enjoying the show!)

As you can tell...this is at the end of the show when we are getting ready to leave....that is why there is such a big smile!!!

Today was a happy happy day!! However, it was bittersweet.....

For just over 11 months we have spent one hour...every Tuesday morning...with Ms. Karen. When we started...Jeremy said no words and he was almost 2 years old. He was tested to have a 30% delay in verbalization. Now, after 11 months of speech therapy with Ms. Karen, through Early Intervention, Jeremy is talking at or above his age level. Not only is he talking....we can and most others can understand him as well. Today, he graduated from the program and will move on in his life at or above the same level of other kids his age. He will not have to struggle to get to where others are starting. We are happy for the impact that Ms. Karen had in his life but we are very sad to not be spending that hour with her every week. Jeremy will miss her a lot as will we. We are so grateful to her for helping him find his voice. Now...if he could just use it less often and little softer! (-:
