Home work....

Jeremy had a lot of home work to do this weekend since he missed school today. One thing he had to do was write about what he did this weekend. First he wanted to color the pictures...of course...anything to stall writing...but then he surprised me by putting the same effort into the words as the coloring. I will translate what he wrote:
"We drove in the car to Minnesota and we had fun. We went to a wedding. I played with my cousin Trevor. A crazy old lady yelled at me." Ha! That about sums it up! Pictures of the beautiful bride to come soon! Stay tuned!

Love & Logic....

With a little 'Love & Logic' parenting advice Jeremy and I no longer have control battle fights in the morning and he picks out his own clothes and gets himself ready for school. The trade off.....he goes to school in outfits like this one! My new attitude is, "Who Cares!?!?!"

Family photo opportunity.
Nice and shinny and ready to eat!

They must be good!
Jeremy said,
"I'm going to eat this apple all the way down to the nub!"

Glacial Park ~ Family Scavenger Hunt

September 4, 2010, Family Scavenger Hunt at Glacial Park.
We started at the Lost Valley Visitors Center.
We received our list of things to look for, listen for, smell & touch.
We planned our route with the map provided.
The one mile loop or the two mile loop???
That is the question....two mile for sure!!!
I wonder what we will see out there....

Walking up the steep kames.
Jeremy said, "Isn't this a beautiful view!"
"Yes it is!"
The 'family' part of the family scavenger hunt!

Milk Weed Bugs...eeewww!!!

An amazing monarch caterpillar hiding under a milk weed leaf.

We even spotted some monarch butterflies!!!

Another caterpillar...I wonder what kind of butterfly he will become?

Maybe one that looks like this.

Who might live in this home?
Maybe this cute little chipmunk?!

I spotted a cute little Jeremy on a stump!
I took this little creature home with me!
Time to look for some wildlife in the marshes!

Jeremy...definitely WILD!!!

Do you see the alligator??!! Okay..so it was a log...
..but we tried to use our imaginations as well!

It took some time but Daddy was finally able to spot a frog!
It was so hard to see that I had to zoom in with my camera...
....take a picture....and then show that picture to Jeremy
for him to be able to see it! What good eyes Daddy has!
Daddy getting an extra work out!

Fun time together for father and son.

The end of our scavenger hunt/hike.
Two miles of walking in a beautiful natural habitat for
so many wonderful creatures!
