End of School Year Trip to Chicago!

Michael, Jeremy & Madison

Waiting for the train in Crystal Lake
Michael, Madison & Jeremy
On the train to Chicago

There was a cool looking cloud around the Hancock Tower!

The day was a little chilly and a bit overcast...but no rain until the end of the day so we were happy with that.

Sweet Maya!

The "love birds" walking along the river to the water taxi.

At least at that moment they were getting along!

Julie & Maya on the water taxi.

The four kids on the water taxi in a rare moment of them all getting along at the same time and all cooperating for a picture at the same time!

Madison & Jeremy Nothing better than a secret between friends!

The water taxi took us down the river from the Sears Tower (Yes! I still call it the Sears Tower) to Navy Pier for our planned Ferris Wheel ride!

Couldn't pass up a photo opportunity along the way!

The boys...best buds!

I am sure Jeremy is thinking....

I won't be afraid this time.....

I don't think....

Jeremy is having fun but you can see in his eyes that there is still a little bit of uneasiness!! Is he trying to smile or is he trying not to cry??!?!

On the way down he is finally brave enough to look out.

That was a fun ride!!! Can't wait to do it again!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
As a reward for a great end of the year at school for Jeremy I wanted to take him on the train to Chicago to ride the water taxi, go on the Ferris Wheel and then the Lego Store. We wanted to do it with friends so my friend Julie and her 3 kids, Michael, Madison and Maya joined us. It was a little bit of a chilly day and by the end of the day Julie and I were wondering if it was all worth it after dealing with the fighting, bickering, talking back children the entire time. But it WAS a fun day most of the time as you can tell from the smiles on these pictures! It's so great to have Chicago so close and friends like these to share our day!!!
Prayer Warrior for Elden
Do you remember when I posted about this little guy, Elden, an orphan in Russia that has been placed on my heart and whom I would love to adopt?? Well, I am still stuck on the path to adoption waiting for a sign that we are meant to do this but until the roadblocks are moved I am his prayer warrior. I just discovered that there is a new picture of him up at Reece's Rainbow.
Here he is in all his 4 year old glory....he is growing up to be such a cute little fellow!!! However, growing up he is and stopping that we can not....soon he will be 5 and then all he has to look forward to is a life that is not humane for any living soul!!!
~~~~~~~

Click HERE to see a video that was made for another little orphan that will be going home with her forever family tomorrow...she will not ever have to experience this...I pray that Elden will not either! Please keep him in your prayers that family will come for him before it is too late!

SEVEN!!!

Today Jeremy turned SEVEN!!! It has been a Harry Potter birthday for sure!

Finally he got the Hogwarts Express Lego Train....

Complete with the enchanted "muggle" car!

I wonder what he is thinking!?!?

He is officially Harry Potter now that he has received the official Harry Potter wand! Thank you so much to Aunt Jodi, Uncle Larry, Connor & Christen!

He is actually very happy about this wand even if it seems from the picture above that he is not! He wanted to pose like this with no smile...I guess that is what wizards look like when they pose for a picture!

He said, "I am going to keep this wand forever no matter what! I will not even give it to my son...I am going to keep it in my closet and I will show it to my son when he is older if he likes Harry Potter!"
