Hair Cuts, Pouting & Ice Cream

I WANT ICE CREAM!
(Pouting as it is taking too long for Daddy to scoop it)

YEAH! ICE CREAM!
Yesterday, Jeremy and Daddy got their hair cut. Jeremy keeps saying, "Mommy, my hair is sticking up." Then he keeps rubbing the back of his head. He had clippers set on number one so it is a lot shorter in the back than normal and it feels funny to him. I think that he was still rubbing his head when he fell asleep last night.

Our Fun Weekend!

Last weekend we made Jell-O. Jeremy was a BIG help! I noticed in this picture that there are some interesting items on our kitchen counter....bags of chips, easy cheese, little bottles of Tabasco, little baby ice cream cones that my mother in law took from our dinner at Sweet Tomatoes, half a bottle of water.....all normal items for a kitchen counter....but wait, what is that....a very large wrench!!?? That is what it takes to crack out Macadamia Nuts from Maui!!!
That's not Pluto but it is as close as we can get! As you can tell, Jeremy LOVES to be Mickey Mouse! We must try to visit him soon!!!

I bought the Little People Barn and Jeremy played with it for about an hour straight!!! I finally had time to clean the kitchen before Daddy got home.
The Bears won! The Colts won! We got snow! We played in the snow! We ate snow! We had a slumber party in Mommy & Daddy's bed! We hibernated on Sunday! We played and played and played all weekend!
It was REALLY hard to wake up and go to work on Monday......and now...it is almost Wednesday and after a short trip to Springfield for work and one night away from my guys it will be the weekend again.....and we will get to play and play and play some more! I live for weekends and the time with my favorite little boy! How I wish I could stay at home every day!!!

VICTORY!

Yeah!!! The Bears won & I got to go out and play in the snow!!!!
This night could not have ended any better.....except if the Colts win too....
GO COLTS!!!!!

....I guess it will have to do!!

Above, is what we woke up to this morning....95% of that was already there when we went to bed. I was really hoping for a lot more snow!!!

Now this is more like it!!!! To bad that this was the snow in Snoqualmie, WA, a few weeks ago! And too bad that is where Granny and Pa are and we....are not. We miss you Granny and Pa and we wish we had some of your snow.....GO BEARS!!!

Bears & Trains

Thank you Granny & Pa for my VERY cool train table! I love to play with Thomas!
Last week we made it! Jeremy and I were decked out in our Bears outfits! Tonight, the night before the Bears V Saints, I pray for LOTS of snow and for our Bears to win again! The snow, so that we can hibernate like a bear in our little condo and drink hot chocolate and cheer for our Bears and I pray for the Bears to win so that I don't have to spend the afternoon with a "bear" of a husband!! GO BEARS!!!!!! March over those Saints!!!!

Angels

Jeremy and I were having this conversation last night while laying down to sleep:
J: I want that angel!
Me: What angel?
J: That one up there! (Pointing in the direction of his dresser however I have no contacts in and have no idea what he is talking about)
Me: Let’s just go to sleep.
J: No, I want that angel….
Me: I don’t see an angel…call daddy and he can get it for you. (Yes I am very lazy at this point)
J: DADDY COME HERE I WANT THE ANGEL (Repeat 3 times louder each time) (Daddy enters the room)
Me: Is there an angel on his dresser? He says he wants it.
Jeff: No. What angel Jeremy?
J: That one pointing in the direction of the dresser.
Jeff: This one….(he points to the cross on the wall with the little boy kneeling to pray.)
J: YUP!
Me: Oh well that is a very special cross and it is very fragile it is just decoration. Now, lets go to sleep.
J: Where are the angels?
Me: You can’t see angels. They watch over you while you are sleeping and keep you safe until you wake up. They are from heaven. Like in our prayers that we say….Now I lay me down to sleep, I pray the lord my soul to keep, the angels watch me through the night, until I wake in morning light.
J: (He starts to cry and he sits up in bed and he is looking up in the air and he is crying and trying to talk and finally I figure out that what he is saying.) I’m afraid of the angels!!! I want Daddy!
Me: I’m here. It’s okay.
J: No…I want Daddy to come lay by me!
Jeff: (Hears the crying and I want daddy and comes in. I quickly tell him what has happened) It’s okay Jeremy. Angels are from God and Church. (and he lays on the other side of Jeremy and puts his arm over him and soon Jeremy is fast asleep)
2:00AM
J: (Wakes up screaming like he had a night terror! I run in to his room.) Mommy! I’m afraid of the Angels!
Me: It’s okay…Mommy’s here
J: (Still crying)….I’m afraid of the Angels.
Me: Do you want to sleep in Mommy and Daddy’s bed?
J: (Sniffling) Yes.
5:15AM
My alarm goes off and I move Jeremy to his bed.
Jeff goes in to lay with him and they are both asleep still when I leave at 630am.

"I want to be Mickey Mouse!"

Do you think that I have brain washed him sufficiently?
We were playing in Jeremy's room and all of the sudden we had this conversation:
J: Mommy, I want to be Mickey Mouse!
Me: You do!!?!
J: Yup!
J: I want to were my costume with my little yellow shoes and my white gloves!
Me: (Thinking: Why not?!) Okay!
J: (Very excited and surprised I said yes) Okay!
So, we proceeded to dress up and then sing the M-I-C-K-E-Y M-O-U-S-E song from the Mickey Mouse Club on the Disney Channel.
What fun!

Potty Training News

Jeremy is showing many signs of "potty readiness". I am receiving lots of pressure from his Aunt and Uncle and Granny and Pa to jump at this opportunity to potty train or we will miss the window and ....blah, blah, blah......So, I decided I better get on it! I went to the library and borrowed a few books on the subject. I also bought an Elmo Potty video and have been showing that to Jeremy along with Bear in the Big Blue House "When you have to go." Lent to me by his Aunt Jodi. Well, I called home on Tuesday and Jeff told me that Jeremy is wearing underwear and he is going to potty train him......GREAT!!! I wasn't quite mentally prepared to start so soon....but what the heck...if his dad wants to do this then great! I get home yesterday (Thursday) and he is in a diaper.....my MIL was on Jeremy duty and decided that after he pooped in his pull up that "He just isn't ready." I am actually relieved as I really didn't what to have to dedicate my whole weekend to this task that I am not really ready to start and to tell you the truth I think my MIL is right....But, I was a little annoyed that the decision was made by her...to stop. So, we are putting the pull ups on the shelf and I am going to read my books and mentally prepare myself for this daunting task. I will then put into writing a "potty training program" with do's and don't's for all 3 caregivers of Jeremy to follow. Control Freak you say??? No....not me!!!! :-) Wish me luck!

Last night we were laying in bed trying to go to sleep and all of the sudden Jeremy says, "Mommy, poop, I have to go sit on my little potty!" I said, "Do you want to?" (Thinking in my head....here comes just one more stall tactic for bed time!!!) He said, "Yup!" I knew he didn't poop or need to but he does call his pee poop too so I felt his diaper and it was very warm on the front....he had just peed! And he know that meant he had to sit on his potty!!! So, I said we can go sit on the potty but only once and then back to bed for the night.....(Trying to stop this stall tactic before it starts). So, we went in and he happily sat on his potty. I gave him much praise and lovingly reminded him that he has to tell me before he pees next time so that the pee will go in the potty and we can have the fun of flushing it down the toilet! One small step in the right direction!

(Mary is a dear friend of mine. Our friendship dates back to 1985! Wow! We are getting old! Anyway, with the way people move around today it is not often that you find friends that you keep in touch with for so long! I only have one other that dates back to the 1980's and that is 1987 with Kristi...there was a post of her new little girl in November....I think that it is soon time for me to jump on the ...more than one child bandwagon!)
