...and now for break in our regular scheduled program....

Three Forks, Montana
Each spring, one of the major ranches here has to move its herd of 500 horses from their winter pastures to summer pastures. The drive takes about three days, and the shortest route goes right through Three Forks, which is a town about 20 miles west of here, so named because it's where the Gallatin, Jefferson and Madison rivers meet to form the headwaters of the Missouri River, which is pretty cool in itself. Anyway, the town has made the event into a celebration, so everyone gathers for music and food while they wait for the horses to come through. Rodeo queens stroll up and down the streets with updates: "They're six miles out!" "They're three miles out!" And then the whole herd comes barreling right down main street, driven by about 40 cowboys. What an awesome sight! And then in about two minutes, they're all gone!

So, I had to take a break from my month by month postings of Jeremy to share this picture and story. My cousins live in Montana and this is what they did a few weeks ago. I thought the picture was so cool and so American that I had to share. We really do live in the "Greatest Nation on God's Green Earth!" Just think of how diverse our nation is from sea to shining sea! Here I am...sitting in Chicago traffic for 40 minutes to get to work while at the very same moment 500 horses are running through a small town in Montana! Very cool!

One more month.....

.....and we will be living here!!
.....and this sweet boy will be THREE!!!

.....and we will no longer live in these yucky condos!!!

So, in one month from today, Jeremy will be THREE!!! I can't believe that this little E.T. with an IV running through his veins for 7 days after birth will be THREE!!! It seems like yesterday that we were sitting by his side in the NICU stressed beyond words because we couldn't take him home. Now, those seven days seem like nothing in the grand scope of his three years of life!! He has gone through speech therapy and he now talks at a three year old level and has been since March. He definitely keeps us running now and he is so much fun! I hope the next three years slow down and don't pass as fast as the last three. However, I hear that is probably not likely so I will savor every hug and every kiss I get now....once he is six that will no longer be a cool thing to do. Over the next month I am going to post pictures from each month of his life up to his very exciting Chicken Little Cake Party that will take place in our new home in Huntley, IL, in just one month!!!!! What a great birthday present for a little boy...and his mom!!!
